Commissions

Having a portrait painted is a wonderful way to commemorate an achievement, thank a loved one and immortalise a special moment to be enjoyed every day. It is a collaborative process and I work closely with you to create your ultimate bespoke artwork.

  • 1. Photo selection

Choose the highest quality photos of your subject(s) for your artwork. Clear, close up photographs of the subject(s) are best to work from. If you are unsure please pick a few photos and email them to me tejkahlonart@gmail.com and I will help you with selection. I also like to know a little more about the person at this point which will help me portray the character in the final piece.

  • 2. Choose a size and medium

Standard sizes are A4 (approx. 10” x 12” ) or A3 (approx. 12” x 16”) but I can create your portrait in any other size. Choose whether you prefer black and white (charcoal) or colour pastel. Examples of my work can be seen on my gallery of portrait commissions.

  • 3. Consultation and booking

Review my price list for a rough estimate of what the commission might cost and get in touch if you have any questions or for a custom quote. I am always happy to arrange a chat on the phone or by video call. Once you are ready to book, I will require a 50% payment to secure your booking. Then you can sit back and relax, you’re in good hands!

  • 4. Drawing/painting, framing and delivery

I will contact you to let you know I am ready to begin your artwork. You will be sent an image of the initial sketch and kept up to date with its progress.

Once you have approved your completed portrait, the balance will need to be paid. The artwork will be framed (A4 and A3 size only) and packaged securely before arranging delivery.
